Stunning yet functional, this large executive partner's desk was crafted in Scotland in the late-19th century. The desk is made of walnut and features two pedestals with drawers on either side for the seamless collaboration of two users working face to face. A leather inset top with gold gilding creates a generous work surface. The knee holes are 19.75 x 28.75 inches, providing ample leg room. Raised on a plinth base, the desk is 30.5 inches tall.
A label affixed to the bottom of one of the drawers indicates the desk was sold as an antique through John Bell of Aberdeen, an antique dealership in Scotland that was established in 1905 with significant export trade to the United States by the mid-20th century.
Condition: Consistent with age and use. Leather is worn and repaired. Four drawer pulls have missing rings. Repair to top. Cracks, dings, scratches consistent with a piece from this era.
