The faces of four open-mouthed gargoyles, perhaps to ward off evil spirits from the home, are carved on the feet of this oak coffee table. Clusters of fruit and foliage, symbolic of success and abundance, are carved just below the gargoyles. A substantial pedestal supports the beveled, oval top with carving at the edge. The table's stain is lighter than most hunt tables we see.
