The Black Forest frame around the tapestry, which was carved to look like tree branches, suggests a Swiss origin. Fireplace screens were originally used to keep the draft and smell from a fireplace from entering the home when the fireplace was not in use. Today their historic scenes from days gone by make lovely home decorating decor.
