Magnificently carved in the late-19th century from solid oak and finished with a rich, dark stain, this handsome corner cabinet showcases bow front construction in both its open shelving at the top and cabinet at the bottom. The open shelving consists of two graduated, beveled shelves, crowned with a carved pediment of scrolled leaves and a central, oval medallion. The lower cabinet has a beveled top with a carved edge over a wide drawer and double doors, which open to a single shelf. Carved leaves gracefully scroll across the cabinet's drawer. The cabinet's doors are flanked by barley twist pillars and proudly display carvings of the day's hunt and catch suspended from ribbon bows. Raised on bun feet, the height of the lower cabinet is 39.75 inches.
