Fashioned from the hopper of a McCormick grain drill and stained block feet, this custom, repurposed bench pairs well with farm and industrial designs. It features original, distressed paint, cast iron sides, and a lid that lifts to reveal 11 open squares that allowed for sowing well-spaced rows of seed. A portion of the French seed-sowing instructions is affixed to the underside of the lid.
McCormick farm equipment was founded in 1831 by Cyrus Hall McCormick. In 1902, McCormick merged with Deering Harvester Company to form International Harvester Company. The IH emblem is visible on the lower right face of the hopper and on the cast iron sides.
