This vintage pair of Canadian bear paw snowshoes features rawhide lacing and tan leather bindings with metal buckles. The use of bear paw snowshoes can be traced back to eastern and northern Canadian Indian peoples. Bear paw snowshoes provided silent and efficient movement for hunting and long distance hiking in deep snow due to their shortness and width.
