Carved with magnificent detail, this stunning mirror features a frame of pierced symmetry along the sides with a slightly asymmetric crown and base. The crown showcases a shell set above an upturned C scroll, flanked by acanthus leaves over ruffled trim that flows down the sides of the mirror to the midpoint. The base has a smaller shell, flanked by ruffled trim that ascends up the sides to meet the descending trim. Additional foliage is tucked into the ribbon creating visual interest. The beveled glass, which has been edited to remove reflection in most of the photos, has minimal flecking and spots consistent with age.
