Made of thick copper, this large cauldron has so much character with its cramp seams brazed with brass filler, slightly out of round shape, and brass handle with a decorative triangular pattern. The edges of the copper were clipped with metal shears to create the notches of the cramp seam during the 19th century prior to machine cuts, giving the seam an irregular appearance. The cauldron's diameter at the top rim is approximately 16.5 inches.
