Dagobert chairs are named for King Dagobert I, King of Austria, Neustria, Burgandy and the Franks (603-639). The base of the chair uses a curule seat design with intersecting curves of the legs which form an X. The curule seat was used by kings and dignitaries and denoted power. The back to the Dagobert chair was added later in history. The back of this Dagobert chair is removable.
