Made with painstaking care and simple carvings, this English trunk shows timeworn character. Despite a date and monogram, which are carved into the center of the trunk, the carvings are from two different time periods with some of the numbers and letters deeper and newer than the lighter, older carvings. By the construction, carving, and aging of the wood, we believe the trunk was made in the late 1700 to early 1800 time period.
