Designed to be wall mounted, this yellow, cast iron mailbox features a sloped top with a slight overhang to ensure mail stayed dry by preventing precipitation from gathering at the top and running into the box. Mail was deposited in the letter slot below the sloped top and a retrieved through the lower front door. The mailbox was originally serviced by the postal department in Beauchêne, France. The postal department's hours of operation plaque is posted on the side of the box. No key.
