Looking ready for snow, this wooden sled features a seat made of two wide slats with curved end construction, runners with metal glides that terminate in bentwood ram's horns, and a worn maker's label from Germany. Metal hardware unites the runners beneath the seat and as a crossbar at the front of the sled. This type of classic, bentwood snow sled, known as a "Grindelwalder," was first developed in Grindelwald, Switzerland. Its ram's horn construction provides a better grip while riding upright than earlier sleds. The seat height is 9.75 inches.
