Manufactured by Henry Martens and Company in approximately 1920, this wooden box contains a clock that was used to time homing pigeon races. Clocks like this one recorded a serial number, which corresponded to a band on the pigeon's leg. The clock was set and sealed. When the pigeon returned, the owner removed the band and placed it in a slot in the clock, which recorded the pigeon's official time. This clock has not been tested.
