Scrolling acanthus leaves adorn the cresting rail of the seat back on this Louis XV style, oak bench from Belgium. The back is divided by fluted columns with three arched panels. The side panels each have a crack, not surprising for the age of this piece. The solid, single slab seat is raised on turned legs with carved stretchers. The turned arm supports match the legs. Each arm extends forward into a carved lion's head. Seat height 19".
