Oval Hunt Table with Leaf

Beautifully carved and elegant in design, this oak hunt table from France is a rare find, not only for its beauty, but also because it is uncommon to acquire a hunt table with a finished, matching leaf like this one. The table features an oval top with a carved, beveled edge supported by a large, center pedestal that is carved with fruit and foliage. Four elegant feet terminate in a scrolled design adorned with carved acanthus leaves.

Most hunt tables are able to expand but the leaves are missing or made from unfinished slabs of wood.  The table extends and four turned feet fold down and latch into place to support the extra length. Dimensions with the finished leaf are 66" (W) x 54.5" (D) x 29" (H).

In addition to the finished, original leaf, the table comes with a second additional leaf, which is not original, for use when more seating is required. It is laminate and not decorative and would need to be covered by a table cloth if used.
