The Howe Scale Company began making scales in 1857. The company was moved from Brandon to Rutland, Vermont in 1873. This 2 pound balance scale, made in Rutland, has the original Howe label. The red paint is worn but the trademark, gold scrolling is still visible. The weight platforms are 5" diameter.
