Ornately carved from solid oak, this beautiful short cabinet brings the past to life. Its carved door showcases a typical scene prior to the turn-of-the-century depicting a woman dressed in traditional, Dutch, folk attire carrying her water bucket along a rugged path. Elaborate trim, a drawer with circular carvings enclosing a flower in each circle, and an apron with a rosette flanked by scrolled acanthus leaves add elegance without drawing the eye away from the door. The door opens to a single shelf. Raised on curved forelegs that terminate in whorl feet and block rear legs, the cabinet stands a bit taller than three feet.
