decorating with vintage sleds, snowshoes and skates

We love decorating with antique sleds, skates and snowshoes for Christmas! These pieces made it onto our wish list because they create such a gorgeous look and can even transition into a winter vignette after the holidays. Here are some stunning looks that are easy to recreate:

1. Lean an antique sled against a wall

Antique sleds have so much natural patina that it doesn't take much to make the look pop. Simply lean an antique sled against a wall or by your Christmas tree. So charming!

2. Use a sled as a functional centerpiece

An antique sled makes for an unexpected, but incredible centerpiece. It's perfect for elevating your dishes and giving your display lots of visual intrigue.

This look works well for a serving station too. Your guests will love it!

3. Use a vintage ice skate to create incredible decor pieces

Vintage ice skates are starting points for creative displays. This look is so impressive and actually very easy to create. Style your vintage skates by adding evergreen sprigs or picks, ribbons and candy canes. This look is perfect for the front door or as mantle decor.

4. Add greenery to snowshoes

It's amazing how well snowshoes and greenery look together! We love the idea of the crossed snowshoes on the porch. This piece would also look fabulous hung up on a wall.

5. Hang snowshoes to create a holiday gallery wall

Create a simple yet festive gallery wall by styling it with a wreath and hanging vintage snowshoes for extra visual impact. If you have an empty frame, spray with chalkboard paint and draw on numbers to create an easy countdown calendar. We love how well this idea works for the living room, mudroom, entryway or hallway.

6. Combine elements for a perfect entryway

Try combining vintage sleds, skates and snowshoes to make the perfect entryway. These elements work so well together.
