Cherubs grace the front and sides of this carved, oak, sewing chest. Specifically made for or by someone with the initials CVB as they are carved beneath a family crest that the angels are holding. The date 18.6.38 is carved above the crest. Each side of the chest has the face of a cherub above a pair of wings. The top of the chest is hinged and lifts to reveal a tray with handles and five dividers for sewing accessories. The tray can be removed. When in place, it rests on four brackets that elevate it, leaving a space below the tray for more storage. Working key.
