Inspired by Louis XV style furniture, this beautiful hutch was crafted in the late-19th century from European oak and finished with a rich, dark stain. It showcases soft, graceful curves paired with bold, sharp lines. The cabinet's soft lines are evident in its arched bonnet, arched glass doors, and elaborate carvings; while the sharp lines of its canted corners, lower doors, and block feet provide a balanced contrast. The upper body features glass on the doors and sides creating an open display with two scalloped shelves that are visible from nearly every angle. Generous storage is concealed behind the doors of the lower cabinet, which has one lower shelf. Consistent with Louis XV style furniture, the hutch is adorned with carved ribbon, small flowers, and C scrolls. Decorative escutcheons on the doors and long hinges adorn the cabinet. Standing over seven feet tall, the cabinet is double-bodied, making it easier to transport. Two keys.
Condition: Good. New escutcheons. Wear consistent with age and use. Dings and scratches consistent with a piece from this era. Front left canted corner of lower cabinet top is missing. Piece of trim on front foot missing. See photos.
