French Louis XV Secretary Desk

Elegant and functional, this stunning quarter sawn oak secretary was crafted in France in the mid-19th century and is comprised of three pieces. It features a top shelf cabinet with two shelves; a middle section with a drop down writing surface and eight compartments; and a base with a wide, deep drawer on cabriole legs with whorl feet. An arched bonnet with a central, pierced carving draws the eye upward, while carvings of flowers and foliage consistent with Louis XV style furniture adorn the body of the secretary.
